NO. For ethical reasons, Perifit has not been tested on pregnant women, and therefore the impact of using a connected Kegel trainer during pregnancy is not known.
As a result, we recommend that you do your Kegel exercises without a device throughout your pregnancy, and return to Perifit 6 to 8 weeks after childbirth, after getting clearance from your healthcare professional.
Not right away. After childbirth is a great time to get into a regular pelvic floor exercise routine. However, we recommend that you wait 6 to 8 weeks after giving birth before using the Perifit, and after getting approval from your healthcare professional.
A strong and healthy pelvic floor is a part of your overall health and wellness. You can absolutely use the Perifit device even if you do not have any pelvic floor issues.
Your ability to relax your pelvic floor is as important as your ability to contract it. Perifit helps you train your pelvic floor by integrating contraction and relaxation phases into each game.
However, if your pelvic floor needs are focused mostly on relaxation (people with overactive pelvic floor or muscle spasms for example), we do not recommend the Perifit device. We advise reaching out to a specialist to get advise on relaxation-focused techniques.
We invite you to refer to this page for further explanation.
NO. As of today, even though we are very much aware of pelvic floor disorders such as vaginismus, dyspareunia, or vulvodynia, the Perifit is not intended to treat these conditions. We recommend you reach out to a pelvic healthcare practitioner to explore other options.
Possibly. After a hysterectomy, it's essential to ensure that the internal organs are supported, your bladder and bowel function correctly, and that the risk of having a prolapse is minimized. However, you should first get your surgeon's approval. The timing of your recovery and the appropriate exercise volume will vary from one woman to the next according to the surgical procedure and overall hysterectomy recovery.
NO. Unfortunately, Perifit doesn't have an effect on endometriosis or reduce the pain associated with endometriosis.
Yes, you can use Perifit with an IUD (or coil). Our Kegel trainer is covered by a sleeve of medical grade silicone which prevents any contact with internal parts, so entirely safe to use with a coil/IUD.
YES. Perifit communicates with your device using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). BLE waves are 1000 times less powerful than those emitted by a regular 4G smartphone. As of today, BLE is even used in pacemakers and other implanted devices.
However, as a precaution, we recommend asking your specialist for confirmation.
YES. Pelvic floor training is a powerful tool to treat stress incontinence, urge incontinence, and mixed incontinence. Studies have shown that about 3/4 of women with stress incontinence, and about 2/3 of women with urge or other incontinence, will benefit from improved symptoms with regular pelvic floor exercise. Since not all cases of incontinence are caused by a weak pelvic floor, getting a diagnosis with a health practitioner to determine the root cause of your incontinence symptoms will help you maximize the chances of using the most effective treatment for you.
VAGINAL Not right away. After childbirth is a great time to get into a regular pelvic floor exercise routine. However, we recommend that you wait 6 to 8 weeks after giving birth before using the Perifit, and after getting approval from your healthcare professional.
CAESARIAN For caesarians we recommend that you also wait 6 to 8 weeks after giving birth before using the Perifit, and after getting approval from your healthcare professional. Even if you didn't give birth vaginally, your pelvic floor has held more than 11 pounds (5 kilograms) during the whole pregnancy.
Please keep in mind that no matter the delivery type, you should get your pelvic floor checked post-pregnancy by a medical specialist.

Some people with a very weak pelvic floor (due to injury or an underlying condition) may benefit from electrostimulation before being able to perform voluntary pelvic floor muscle contractions. If you think this may appy to you, you should reach out to a pevic healthcare practitioner.

If your due date is within a couple of months, we can postpone the start date of the trial period to your due date (limited to two months after delivery of the breast pump). If you want to return the breast pump during your adjusted trial period, we will simply ask you for a photo of your baby's birth certificate to determine the start date of the trial period.
Yes, our pump is just as powerful as a traditional hospital-grade pump, with the added bonus of being hands-free (suction up to 300mmHg). Most of our users now pump exclusively with the Perifit Pump, and some have even managed to increase their production over time.
You can use the Perifit Pump with your favorite nursing bra! A nursing bra strap extension is included with the breast pump so you can adjust the tightness against the breast and keep the nipple well in place.
